More than 200 participants on our international crime prevention conference for municipalities

Overall 107 administrative divisions were represented on the „Municipal Crime Prevention Conference” last month at the National Police Headquarters.

This year the National Crime Prevention Council decided to dedicate its annual international conference to the role of municipalities in crime prevention. Among the national experts we welcomed Mr. Bo Grönlund, architect and urban planner, emeritus at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.

Representatives heard about the Preventive Crime Statistic Repository (PRE-STAT) which application provides information about the criminal situation of certain parts of the country by using the criminal, sociological, economical statistics.

One of the presentations was about the importance of the role of conscious architectural and environmental design in planning public spaces. Participants got insight into one of Hungary’s biggest municipality’s crime preventive measures and strategy.
