The ’Shape your space ‘project follows the CPTED principles and involves locals – the municipality, schools, etc.- in the reconstruction of a local park in the 10th district of Budapest.

To be more efficient the National Crime Prevention Council of Hungary would like to set up the network of the county crime prevention councils. The NCPC started building the network in Baranya county where the local government agency decided to support the initiative. On 05-06 December 2018 the Best Practice Conference and the European Crime Prevention Award took place in Vienna, Austria. The Hungarian project –that has been partly financed by the NCPC of Hungary- won the third place!

The theme was 'Community Policing'. Community  Policing is  an  important  method  to  increase  safety  and  security  both objectively and subjectively – This year the organizers were searching for the best initiative to build up cooperation with partners in terms of Community Policing.

The NCPC supports the ’Lélekzuhany’ gospel choir, which is the first choir in Hungary, whose members are either in foster care or working there. On the 16th of December the  choir gives a Christmas concert as a gift for peers.  The choir will be accompanied by the famous Police Big Band.

As a matter of routine the team of the National Crime Prevention Council participated at the “50 Seniorplus Expo” that offers programmes for elderly people. The event attracted almost 11 000 people in the previous year. Our colleagues prepared playful tests and valuable presents for the visitors and were open for talks about crime prevention.

The Foundation for the Support of Children at Risk and in State Care is building a summer camp in Tas-Alsószenttamás for orphans and children who have been taken into care. At the moment there are only a newly built temple and five existing, but to be renovated house on the plot.

The National Crime Prevention Council financed the fencing of the property that is still waiting for some major reconstruction before it could welcome the children.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) launched an application called Preventive Crime Statistic Repository (PRE-STAT) that is now available for citizens. By using the criminal, sociological, economical statistics, the app provides information about the criminal situation of the country. It shows which county has the most drunk driving cases, where is the highest number of theft, etc.
